After writing a book about her relationship with Emily Nelson (Blake Lively), Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) learns that Emily is out on appeal and getting married in Capri.

The sequel to A Simple Favor (2018) does what sequels tend to do: revisit familiar territory, only make it bigger (not necessarily better).

The convoluted, contrived story is stretched out to two full hours, but other ingredients compensate, such as Lively’s wicked performance, her outstanding, glamorous outfits and a handful of amusing scenes in gorgeous Capri settings.
