IT TAKES A SPY TO HUNT A SPY.
British counterintelligence agent George T. Woodhouse (Michael Fassbender) learns that there must be a traitor in the organization; one of the suspects is his wife (Cate Blanchett).
The same year as they delivered a gripping ghost movie, Presence, Steven Soderbergh and writer David Koepp also crafted this stylish, icy thriller that flirts with many predecessors and even casts 007 himself, Pierce Brosnan, as the head of the NCSC.
Fassbender and Blanchett are a gorgeous couple and the film benefits from its sophisticated look and David Holmes’s score… but the story is a tad too convoluted.
