BRILLIANT. BAD. A LITTLE BIT MAD.
Ten years after her mother’s death, Estella Miller (Emma Stone) is noticed by a prominent fashion designer (Emma Thompson) who takes her under her wing… but Estella finds a reason to plot revenge.
Another attempt by Disney to spin something new out of a familiar story, in this case One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961).
Cruella de Vil gets her own background story; Thompson is fine and so are the production design and costumes, but at heart it’s awfully generic, including the choices of pop hits on the soundtrack.
