WELCOME TO CRYSTAL LAKE.

Clay Miller (Jared Padalecki) comes to Crystal Lake looking for his sister and her friends who went missing there six weeks ago; he doesn’t know that they were attacked by a legendary figure.

This remake of the 1980 horror film starts out promisingly, then goes south. It doesn’t really remind you of the first films (which might be good), but deteriorates into a copy of the director’s 2003 take on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. What’s the point of turning Jason into another Leatherface?
