TRUST HIS INSTINCTS.
Not another Cujo (1983), but a low-budget horror movie with a story about a dog sensing that things are not right in a house where an old man met a mysterious death.
Mostly filmed from the dog’s perspective, the movie has an intriguing idea and delivers on its promise of an eerie atmosphere and a few well-staged shocks. Indy (who belongs to the director and his wife, co-producer Kari Fischer) is a treat to watch throughout the film, which took three years to make due to the challenges of having an animal in the lead.
The story is less satisfying, even confusing at times.
2025-U.S. 73 min. Color. Directed, photographed and edited by Ben Leonberg. Screenplay: Alex Cannon, Ben Leonberg. Cast: Indy (Indy), Shane Jensen (Todd), Arielle Friedman (Vera), Larry Fessenden, Stuart Rudin.
