A LITTLE CHAOS IS GOOD FOR THE GATHERING.
In 1950s England, the Tesmans (Tessa Thompson, Tom Bateman) invite friends and rivals to their country estate for a party; a reunion of former lovers ups the stakes.
Nia DaCosta takes on the classic play, changing some of the dynamic and adding a feverish, gorgeous atmosphere of sensuous jazz and decadence. The drama takes place over an evening in an opulent mansion, decorated in dark, velvety colors; emotions run increasingly higher as Hedda manipulates the woman she once loved and who remains far more important to her than her husband.
Thompson is intense in the lead.
