SUCKS TO BE HIM.

Renfield (Nicholas Hoult) has spent many decades securing victims for Count Dracula (Nicolas Cage) to feast on, but he’s getting a little tired of it.

An idea that first saw the day of light when Universal was preparing its ”Dark Universe” franchise. What eventually came out of it is an action-comedy with horror overtones that tries to put a fresh spin on Bram Stoker’s tale, with nods to the 1931 film.

A lot of silliness here – some of it works, most of it feels just dumb. Amusingly, Cage adapts his performance to the material.
