NO MORE MERCY. NO MORE SHAME. NO MORE SEQUELS – HONEST! WE LIED.
This sequel is mainly a send-up of The Haunting (1963), as the leading characters spend a weekend at a haunted house. But many other films are also desecrated, including The Exorcist (1973) in an uneven opening sequence where James Woods gets to do a Max von Sydow impersonation.
A few OK bits (Chris Elliott and his twisted hand are good for a chuckle) succumb to a tidal wave of jokes that are so incredibly infantile that they are nowhere near being funny.
2001-U.S. 82 min. Color. Directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans. Cast: Shawn Wayans (Ray Wilkins), Marlon Wayans (Shorty Meeks), Anna Faris (Cindy Campbell), Regina Hall, Chris Masterson, Kathleen Robertson, James Woods, Tim Curry, Tori Spelling, Chris Elliott, Andy Richter, Veronica Cartwright, Natasha Lyonne.
Trivia: Marlon Brando was first hired for the part that Woods came to play; Charlton Heston was also considered. Followed by Scary Movie 3 (2003).
