Spinal Tap II: The End Continues

40 years after directing a seminal rockumentary, director Marty DiBergi (Rob Reiner) finds out whatever happened to the former members of Spinal Tap.

I had my doubts, but this is a worthy sequel to This Is Spinal Tap (1984), a mockumentary that has similar hit-or-miss moments as the first film, taking on the issue of growing old in the world of rock ’n’ roll, along with several iconic guest stars; Elton John even gets to sing a few Tap classics.

As for Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer, it’s as if four decades haven’t passed; Valerie Franco adds fresh energy as the band’s 12th drummer.

Trivia: Co-produced by Reiner (whose last film this was) and the three leads.
