Police detective Zeke Banks (Chris Rock) is hunting a Jigsaw copycat who’s targeting cops with a dirty record.

Rock came up with the idea for this Saw spin-off and plays his part as if he’s walked straight out of a 1980s cop movie… but this franchise did need fresh blood and it looks as if he and Samuel L. Jackson had more fun shooting their scenes than the audience is likely to have watching the movie as a whole.

It’s a tired story with the expected twist, and the new killer’s scrambled voice makes him sound like a robotic Kermit the Frog.
