THIS MISSION IS ON THIN ICE.

When miners are trapped after an explosion in Manitoba, ice-road truckers, among them Mike McCann (Liam Neeson) and his cognitively disabled brother (Marcus Thomas), are hired to deliver wellheads for the rescue mission.

It’s not dynamite in those trucks, but it’s still obvious that Wages of Fear (1953) inspired this action movie, that takes good advantage of its snowy locations and dangerous ice roads.

The visual effects are awful, but the film has its thrills.
