Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials

AVERAGE

WHEN THE CLOCKS STRIKE, MURDER FOLLOWS.

In 1925, a party ends in what looks like suicide; ”Bundle” (Mia McKenna-Bruce) was supposed to marry the victim and suspects a crime might have been committed.

The man behind Broadchurch created this amiable miniseries, which was based on an Agatha Christie thriller that was poorly received at the time. The story isn’t much and reflects the author’s intention to create an adventure rather than a carefully plotted mystery.

The cast makes it entertaining, with McKenna-Bruce as our plucky heroine, Martin Freeman providing comic relief as the superintendent, and Bonham Carter being Bonham Carter.

2026-U.K. 161 min. Color. Created and written by Chris Chibnall. Novel: Agatha Christie (”The Seven Dials Mystery”). Cast: Mia McKenna-Bruce (Eileen ”Bundle” Brent), Martin Freeman (Battle), Helena Bonham Carter (Lady Caterham), Edward Bluemel, Iain Glen, Hughie O’Donnell.
