The director and star of the original Evil Dead (1983) fell for the temptation to craft a a remake (or possibly another sequel) that fits into the cookie cutter standard that comes with every horror remake these days.

Very gory, but its shocks are sometimes ineptly staged and the filmmakers are unable to build any kind of tension.
