BREAKUPS ARE ALL IN THE EXECUTION.

This remake of the Norwegian The Trip (2021) stays so close to the original that it almost feels like a stage production of a classic play where everybody’s afraid to make changes.

One ingredient is new though: one of the killers hiding in Jason Segel and Samara Weaving’s cabin is a prison guard who’s literally crazy about Timothy Olyphant’s psycho. Juliette Lewis certainly chews the scenery, but the other characters are more enjoyable.

All in all, this deranged story is good enough for a second round, and the film gets a nice Nordic touch from its Finnish shooting locations.
