In 1944, as the Allies ponder which date might be the best for D-Day, a conflict brews between the leading meteorologists (Andrew Scott, Chris Messina).

The play, and this screen adaptation, make the most out of the challenge of predicting the weather for the all-important invasion of Europe, as storms threaten to turn it all into a disaster. Whom should Ike trust, the supposedly brilliant Stagg, or the guy who’s never been wrong before?

Purists will mind how the story’s been changed to fit dramatic purposes, but it’s engaging, including the performances; Scott stands out.
