As Kate Garrett (Julianne Moore) is struggling to make ends meet, her drug-addicted daughter (Sydney Sweeney) pulls her into a nightmare that will test how far Kate is willing to go to protect her.
A thriller whose every twist and turn may not come across as fully convincing, but benefits from good pacing and an excellent cast. That includes Moore and Sweeney as a mother-daughter duo we can empathize with, even when we’re ready to slap them both for the decisions they make.
Domhnall Gleeson does an entertaining turn as a sleazy criminal who thinks he’s got it all figured out.
