As Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) is recovering in a hospital from the events of the last movie, a secret unit within the police is desperately trying to erase anything that might lead to them.
The first chapter (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) was a cleverly structured crime mystery, the second one a straight-forward thriller, but this, the third and final part of the franchise, is a long and talky attempt to finally bring its memorable female lead character some justice.
A few good performances, but not a very convincing story and everything wraps up too neatly.
