THEY’RE DYING TO SAVE THE WORLD.
When the government of a small South American nation is overthrown, a new Suicide Squad is assembled… but there are obviously ulterior motives behind the mission.
The sequel to the 2016 movie ditches the dystopian style in favor of a lighter touch in the vein of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy adventures, adding absurd ideas (like a giant alien starfish in the final showdown) and cartoonishly generous amounts of blood. Cheerfully silly, with Sylvester Stallone voicing a very friendly but lethal shark.
The cast is game, but they can’t carry the film’s slower stretches.
