The happy marriage between architect Theo Rose (Benedict Cumberbatch) and his wife Ivy (Olivia Colman) takes a blow when they both go through tumultuous changes career-wise.
A new take on Warren Adler’s novel that shares many traits with it and its 1989 film adaptation, but adds British wit courtesy of The Favourite writer Tony McNamara. The combination of Cumberbatch and Colman’s performances and the dialogue turns into a satisfying source of entertainment along the way.
Only Kate McKinnon’s flirty character feels like she stepped in from a different movie.
