WE CAN’T ALL DIE FIRST.
A group of friends have rented a cabin in the woods for Juneteenth, but when they get there they find a racist board game… and soon enough, the killings begin.
Inspired by a short film made in 2018 by the comedy troupe 3Peat, this expanded feature film version, a horror-comedy, benefits from a good idea: the characters are forced to both rely on Black stereotypes and fight them in order to survive.
The results are silly, but not on a Scary Movie level; this one is packed with clever and funny ideas, and the cast is game.
2023-U.S. 97 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Tim Story. Screenplay: Tracy Oliver, Dewayne Perkins. Cast: Grace Byers (Allison), Jermaine Fowler (Clifton), Melvin Gregg (King), X Mayo, Dewayne Perkins, Antoinette Robertson.
