YOUR EVERY FEAR – ALL IN ONE DEADLY ENEMY.

When a little girl is murdered in Derry, Maine, a group of now adult friends fear that the enemy they battled as children is back, a monster who took the shape of a clown.

A miniseries adaptation of the massive Stephen King novel that has gained a cult following over the years, especially thanks to Tim Curry’s now iconic, creepy performance as Pennywise the murderous clown.

Jumping back and forth between modern times and 1960, the miniseries is better at depicting the kids in ”The Losers Club” than the grownups, and delivers a few memorable scares. But it’s an uneven experience, suffering at times from bad acting and special effects.

1990-U.S.-Canada. 192 min. Color. Directed by Tommy Lee Wallace. Novel: Stephen King. Cast: Tim Curry (Pennywise), Richard Thomas (Bill Denbrough), John Ritter (Ben Hanscom), Annette O’Toole, Harry Anderson, Dennis Christopher, Olivia Hussey… Seth Green.

Trivia: Alternative title: Stephen King’s It. Originally shown in two episodes. George A. Romero was initially hired to direct; Malcolm McDowell, Alice Cooper and Roddy McDowall were considered for the part of Pennywise. Remade as two feature films, It (2017) and It: Chapter Two (2019).
