The Home

When Monika (Anki Lidén) suffers a stroke, her son (Philip Oros) has her transferred to a care facility, but a mysterious entity seems to have followed her.

A horror movie that takes advantage of several fears and traumas, including watching your parents grow old and losing control of your mind and life. The story also addresses the consequences of abuse and remains engaging throughout, in spite of overly familiar horror tropes and a less effective last half-hour.

The filmmakers build a dreary atmosphere at the facility and Lidén is good as the tormented Monika.
