In the 1970s, a teenager (Clara Pacini) on the run hides in a studio where an adaptation of H.C. Andersen’s ”The Snow Queen” is filmed and becomes obsessed with the star in the lead, Cristina (Marion Cotillard).

The line between reality and fiction is blurred in this fantasy where Jeanne’s story and that of ”The Snow Queen” blend.

The intimate, wintry cinematography, combined with music by Olivier Messiaen and Cotillard’s performance bring a mystique to the film… but it is glacially paced.
