HUNT… OR BE HUNTED.

Mourning the loss of her husband, Sasha (Charlize Theron) heads out into the Australian outback where she becomes the target of a deranged hunter (Taron Egerton).

Sounds promising on paper, but this survival thriller is ultimately marred by its villain who’s so over-the-top that tension suffers; also, the last half-hour is too contrived and obvious.

Still, Theron delivers a tough performance as a rock-climber who’s learning to navigate her own emotions as well as her wild surroundings (where New South Wales is a convincing stand-in).
