SOULM8TE

A widowed computer programmer (David Rysdahl) begins using a beta version of a companion robot called Sara (Lily Sullivan), but she becomes disturbingly attached to him.

A spinoff from the M3GAN films that illustrates two highly relevant themes in our times: loneliness and the likelihood that we’ll use AI and robots as a cure for it. You could almost expect Michael Douglas in the lead, as the robot’s jealousy grows worse.

Sullivan is good, but it’s a predictable story about the meaning of authentic love.

2026-U.S. 99 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Kate Dolan. Screenplay: Rafael Jordan, Kate Dolan. Cast: Lily Sullivan (Sara/Lydia), David Rysdahl (David), Claudia Doumit (Aubrey), Arty Froushan, Elijah Cook, Emma Ramos.

Trivia: Co-produced by James Wan, who also contributed to the story. The film was originally slated for a theatrical premiere, but got a digital release.
