ARE YOU A FRIEND OF FRENDO?

Teenager Quinn Maybrook (Katie Douglas) moves with her dad (Aaron Abrams) to a small town in Missouri, little dreaming that a living, murderous clown mascot will go after the local youth.

On paper this may look like another cheap slasher, but the film was based on a young adult novel that merely flirts with the genre – ultimately, it’s a satirical attack on poisonous and insular rural conservatism. Our heros are a rebellious group of teens.

The twist may be obvious early on, and there’s no credibility… but we do get a fair share of killer clowns in cornfields. Bloody, and fun.
