THEY’RE GOING TO MAKE A KILLING.
Lawyer Elliot Kintner (Paul Rudd) and his teenage daughter (Jenna Ortega) are driving through the woods when they accidentally hit a unicorn; the consequences are devastating.
The idea of building a horror-comedy around the fairy-tale concept of unicorns doesn’t come natural, and this film struggles to make it work. An important theme is greed, symbolized by Elliot’s boss (Richard E. Grant) and his vile family who see an opportunity to make money off of unicorns’ magic powers.
Few laughs; plenty of horror, but the film only gets increasingly noisy, with so-so effects.
