Paul Kersey (Charles Bronson) has created a new life for himself in Los Angeles, but after an attack on his daughter and housekeeper that leaves both dead, he once again turns into a vigilante.

This sequel took eight years to materialize and gives Bronson’s wife Jill Ireland a thankless part as a reporter who dates Kersey. Shot in authentically seedy parts of L.A., but there’s zero realism or suspense here.

No matter what grotesque violence befalls the women in Kersey’s life, Bronson is incapable of conveying emotion.

Trivia: Brian Garfield, who wrote the original novel, also wrote a sequel called ”Death Sentence”. The producers of this film decided not to adapt it, but that novel was turned into a movie in 2007. Isaac Hayes was the first choice as composer, but Winner objected and recruited Page instead. Followed by Death Wish 3 (1985).
