A PRESIDENT. A PARDON. A LEGACY.
Mariano De Santis (Toni Sevillo), President of Italy, considers a controversial new euthanasia bill on his desk, along with two appeals cases, while also mourning his wife.
In 2008, Paolo Sorrentino painted a flashy portrait of former Prime Minister Andreotti in Il Divo, assisted by Sevillo in the lead role. This much quieter drama was also inspired by real-life events, a lethargically paced, slight rumination on aging, grief and self-determination, spiked with visual flair and the occasional absurdity.
Milvia Marigliano steals her every scene.
