Love

Marianne (Andrea Bræin Hovig), a physician, and Tor (Tayo Cittadella Jacobsen), a nurse, challenge themselves by trying out new types of relationships.

Part of what you might call Dag Johan Haugerud’s own Oslo trilogy, where the city’s environs and Peder Capjon Kjellsby’s music play important roles, providing a breathing space between these films’ many and lengthy conversations on the topic of sex, love and relationships.

A ferry for commuters becomes a meeting point for the characters in this chapter, encounters that put their philosophies to the test, for better or worse. Quietly moving, with good performances.

2024-Norway. 120 min. Color. Written and directed by Dag Johan Haugerud. Music: Peder Capjon Kjellsby. Cast: Andrea Bræin Hovig (Marianne), Tayo Cittadella Jacobsen (Tor), Marte Engebrigtsen (Heidi), Lars Jacob Holm, Thomas Gullestad, Marian Saastad Ottesen.

Trivia: Original title: Kjærlighet. The other two films in the trilogy are Sex and Dreams (Sex Love), both released in 2024.
