This sequel to HOUBA! On the Trail of the Marsupilami (2012) brings along Jamel Debbouze for another adventure featuring the super-strong, ape-like creature.

To anyone who grew up with André Franquin’s masterful Spirou comic books, this film is an irrelevant abomination, lacking the right touch. Then again, it’s a movie for a very young audience, who might take to the story where the Marsupilami helps bring together a boy’s separated parents.

A wild romp, with decent use of animatronics to make the creature come alive.
