In 2035, after a major pandemic has wiped out most humans, Hig (Jacob Elordi) and his dog Jasper is trying to survive while never giving up hope of a better future.

A lot of critics gave this movie a thumbs down because it reminded them too much of apocalyptic predecessors like The Last of Us.

I didn’t mind, because the cast, story and set-up keep us entertained throughout, like a good, old-fashioned Western – complete with a few absurd touches, such as a detour to Grand Junction where Allison Janney runs a very odd operation. All ingredients that make us forgive plot holes and predictability.
