The Final Conflict

THE POWER OF EVIL IS NO LONGER IN THE HANDS OF A CHILD.

The son of Satan, Damien Thorn (Sam Neill), is appointed new ambassador to Britain, but his arch-enemy is also headed for London.

The third Omen movie shows our boy all grown up and ready to set the world on fire. However, this chapter is pretty dull up until a truly bizarre showdown between Damien and Jesus Christ.

The movie’s attempt to be devoutly religious and blood-spatteringly sadistic comes across as merely tasteless. Neill is quite good, though.

1981-U.S. 108 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Graham Baker. Cast: Sam Neill (Damien Thorn), Rossano Brazzi (Father DeCarlo), Don Gordon (Harvey Pleydell Dean), Lisa Harrow, Mason Adams, Barnaby Holm.

Trivia: Alternative title: Omen III: The Final Conflict. Executive produced by Richard Donner. Followed by a TV movie, Omen IV: The Awakening (1991).
