At the same time as Olof (Adam Lundgren) is trying to reach out to his teenage daughter (Hedvig Nilsson) after the death of her mother, he’s in for a new daunting challenge.

Director Marcus Carlsson was inspired by real-life events, and it’s clear that Lundgren was committed to this project, adding to the script as well as learning the right local accent for his character; even for Swedish audiences, this is a movie that needs subtitles.

A grief-stricken drama and coming-of-age story where bees play a symbolic part, but it all remains unremarkable.
