Point Break

100 % PURE ADRENALINE.

Rookie FBI agent Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves) goes undercover to infiltrate a group of surfers who might have ties to a series of bank robberies executed by a gang who call themselves ”the Ex-Presidents”.

A film that didn’t get much attention when it premiered, but has become a cult item over the years. The locations, forcefully directed action sequences and the cat- and mouse game between Reeves and his prime suspect, Patrick Swayze, are all attractive.

But the dialogue is awful and there are too many moments that are ridiculously over-the-top.

1991-U.S. 122 min. Color. Widescreen. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow. Cast: Patrick Swayze (Bodhi), Keanu Reeves (Johnny Utah), Gary Busey (Angelo Pappas), Lori Petty, John McGinley, James LeGros… Tom Sizemore.

Trivia: Co-executive produced by James Cameron. Matthew Broderick, Charlie Sheen and Val Kilmer were considered for the role of Utah; Ridley Scott for directing duties. Remade as Point Break (2015).
