In 1888, Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) embarks on a career as a private detective and investigates a matchstick factory where a girl has disappeared.
Perhaps it is not something to be expected of this sequel, but it is based on actual events, a strike among matchstick girls where one of the leaders was labor activist Sarah Chapman, who becomes an intriguing character in this story. The filmmakers expertly use historical facts to support a feminist agenda, but never forget that their most important mission is to entertain us.
Ably supported by Brown’s charisma, and David Thewlis as a disagreeable cop on her trail.
