The Disappearance of Josef Mengele

Welcome to the pathetic life of Dr. Josef Mengele, the famed ”Angel of Death” who notoriously experimented on his Jewish victims in Auschwitz before disappearing after the end of the war.

We now know much of what his life looked like on the run in South America, as documented in a best-selling book by Olivier Guez. This film adaptation jumps back and forth between a few selected years, showing Mengele seething with anger over his fate, hobnobbing with other Nazis on the run, and answering to his son.

Loses steam toward the end, but still worthwhile; August Diehl is very good.
